Cofounders (and brothers) Edward & Kevin Chiu were working in Customer Success and were tired of sifting through meeting notes, juggling email campaigns, tracking down customer activity data, prioritizing customer needs, and navigating endless tabs and windows. After evaluating several tools on the market, they found them to be costly and difficult to use, with many requiring half a year or more for implementation.

They recognized that this frustration went far beyond just the two of them, and in 2017, Catalyst was born out of frustration and necessity to become the leading Customer Success platform on the market.

In 2024, Catalyst merged with Totango to build a unified solution to help businesses drive measurable growth from their customer base. Edward Chiu serves as co-CEO of the newly combined company, and Kevin Chiu serves as Chief Product Officer.
